Couples have demanded 1.1L compensation from GoAir
Bengaluru: On January 24, An eight-hour delay in taking off the flight from Bengaluru to Phuket made 5 honeymoon couples to thrash a legal action on Air India. Delay of GoAir flight from Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), Bengaluru to Phuket made reputed Sitarist Shubhendra Rao slamming a legal notice for compensation about 1.1Lacs and five other couples are preparing for the same.
These couples are asking for the same compensation as they did miss their Phuket city packaged tour and few events which were curated specially for them by the hotel where the couples were supposed to stay. Four couples are from Gujarat and one is from Mumbai who planned their honeymoon at Phuket.
The GoAir flight G8-041 with 163 passengers took off from the Bangaluru airport but had to have an air turn after flying for 30 minutes because of the warning signal from the cockpit crew. The crew was giving a signal of the possibility of having opened door of the luggage bay. The craft took an air turn and landed back at the KIA Airport.
The bitterness of passengers was misinformation and not treating their passengers in a well manner. The Kanani couple, who are advocate by profession, claiming for the compensation of 1.1 Lacs for their losses and traumatized by the incident.
Kanani couple saying," we are asking for the compensation of 1.1Lacs to each of us that should be given within 15 days of time frame as mandated by law, otherwise we will sue them in the consumer court for mistreating and misleading their passengers." "They were given only milk and biscuits for whole time sitting in the flight," Kanani added.
The other couple said," They had a booking of Phuket city tour and the dinner at the poolside was organized specially for them by the hotel. Each couple had paid 8,000 INR for the day event which they couldn't avail of it. We need to be compensated."
GoAir had made no official remarks over the issue yet.
