Reception held on the absence of the groom, Mom garlands daughter-in-law as he underwent coronavirus quarantine
Trissure: A man who came from China two weeks ago for his own wedding had to postpone wedding ceremonies as he had to go to coronavirus quarantine. Mom of groom had to garland the bride and brought before guests for the traditional 'Sadya' ceremony.
The marriage was planned to be held on Tuesday at Kadangode gram panchayat. As panchayat came to know about the wedding they reported to the District Medical Officer and sent a letter to the Deputy Director. They asked the family to postpone the ceremony as a precaution from the novel Coronavirus. The groom was told by authorities that he can not get married as health protocol and he has to stay at quarantine for the next 28 days. In terms of following that protocol, the reception was held in the absence of the groom and his mom garlanded the bride.
The man is working in Yiwu, 1500 Km away from Wuhan as an Accountant.
However, three cases were reported in Kerela but no new case has come up. Two medical students, a businessman and a working man has returned home from China. They have been kept to isolated quarantines and being in observation.
