Do's and Don'ts guidelines given by the Indian Ministry of Health against Coronavirus

India has detected three more cases of Novel Coronavirus in a few more cities i.e. Delhi, Hyderabad, and Jaipur after Kerala. Approximately, 3000 people have died due to the Coronavirus around the world. The first outbreak occurred in Mainland China during December and now it is spreading wings to the other countries too.

The Novel Coronavirus is called SARS-CoV-2 and it causes the disease named Covid-19. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared its outbreak 'a global emergency'.

Indian Ministry of Health has announced a high alert and published a few guidelines to prevent the major outbreak of the Coronavirus in India. Ministry of Health has requested to citizens of India to follow the protocol to protect yourself and your loved ones from being infected. Since this is highly contagious and could be spread with droplets coming out of any infected living body such as human beings and animals. The living body is the main carrier of the Novel Coronavirus. Even though your body has a high immunity system still, you can be a carrier of the virus.

Firstly, let's start with how it can be spread.

1. The virus is highly contagious and can be spread person-to-person easily. If someone is in close contact (within 5-6 feet) with the infected person, he or she can easily get the infection through respiratory droplets or a sneeze. If an infected person sneezes or coughs, the droplets can land on another person's face, hands or directly to mouth or nose. It can possibly transmit to others through inhaling the infected air and goes directly to the lungs.

2. Coronavirus can be transmitted by being exposed to infected surfaces or objects too since the virus can be alive for a minute on any object or surfaces outside of living bodies. It is possible if someone touches an infected surface or object that has the virus on it and then touches his or her own mouth, nose or eyes.

Here are the guidelines that our Health ministry has released to help people learn about Novel Coronavirus and to know how to protect ourselves while having very basic precautions of hygiene and cleanliness.

      Do's:

  • Avoid close contact with the person showing symptoms of cold, cough or flu.
